🎓 Educational Qualification & Experience
✅ Minimum Educational Qualification
Postgraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Preference for candidates with Master’s/Specialization in Precision Engineering
✅ Essential Experience
20 years overall post-qualification experience in Engineering / Manufacturing / PSU / Private Industry / Government
15 years in a strategic or leadership role, involving decision-making, policy guidance, or plant-level management
This role is designed for industry veterans, former CXOs, plant heads, senior technocrats, or strategic advisors with deep exposure to advanced manufacturing ecosystems.
🏭 About the Precision Engineering Facility at WSC
The Precision Engineering (PEG) facility at WSC Campus-2 operates as a Training-cum-Production Center, equipped with high-end CNC machines, automation tools, advanced software, and Industry 4.0 technologies. Since January 2025, the center has already begun training operations and enrolled its third batch for the academic year 2025–26.
The Advisor will play a transformational role in scaling this facility into a national hub for:
Precision manufacturing

🔑 Key Roles & Responsibilities
🧠 1. Strategic Guidance & Advisory
Advise management on production strategy, expansion, and investments
Align operational goals with market demand and profitability
Guide adoption of CNC automation, robotics, and Industry 4.0
Recommend updates in operations, quality, and maintenance policies
Support intellectual property protection (patents, designs, trade secrets)
⚙️ 2. Process Improvement & Technical Advisory
Identify gaps in curriculum, infrastructure, and trainer capability
Recommend Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, and 5S
Advise on tooling, machining parameters, and process optimization
Support implementation of ISO / IATF / AS quality systems
📊 3. Production Planning & Resource Utilization
Review production schedules and eliminate bottlenecks
Improve capacity utilization and workflow design
Introduce JIT or Kanban inventory systems
Support manpower planning and revenue-oriented manufacturing
💰 4. Financial & Cost Advisory
Analyze production costs and suggest cost-reduction strategies
Advise on CAPEX vs OPEX and ROI
Identify Government of India & Odisha funding schemes
Establish competitive pricing for MSMEs and startups
🧑🏫 5. Skill Development & Capacity Building
Design training modules for operators and supervisors
Mentor staff in technical leadership and planning
Promote continuous learning and certification programs
Provide consultancy and training services to industries

Monitor OEE, rejection rates, downtime
Ensure compliance with Factory Act, PCB, Fire Safety & Labour Laws
Support ISO 21001, ISO 9001, AS 9100 certifications

Introduce advanced manufacturing technologies
Build partnerships with R&D institutions and universities
